Clonazepam 0.25 use

My mother is 60 years age and she is also High BP patient and Asthemetic patient.she fells trouble in sleeping .Some times she sleeps well during night and some times she is sleepless all night. Doctor has advised her to take Clonazepam 0.25mg 1 tablet daily during night before sleeping. Is Clonazepam 0.25 safe sleeping pills ? Is it addictive medicine ? Can this medicine be taken in 0.25 mg or less? Is there any side effects of this tablet? Pls advise?
