Unconjugated bilirubinemia- due to breakdown of red blood cells. Jaundice is there but urine is clear because unconjugated bilirubin is insoluble in water
Conjugated bilirubinemia- due to gall bladder stones blocking the bile excretion. Jaundice and dark yellow urine is seen. Conjugated bilirubin is soluble in water.
Mixed type- both types of bilirubin rise so this also has jaundice and dark yellow urine. Usually seen in
liver disease causing damage to liver tissue.
