Carpal Tunnel syndrome is due to compression of nerve at the wrist joint. It doesnt go away with medications. Medications are to subside the pain. If she is pain free with medications, she can restart those medications. If there are other contributing factors like obesity or thyroid, those have to be controlled. If the pain is not relived with medications and if the nerve conduction shows severe carpal Tunnel syndrome, then she will benefit from a small surgery - carpal tunnel release.
