If a person has a cardiac episode, and after being brought off sedation/paralytics following the 24hr hypothermic cooling, shows responsiveness but becomes agitated so sedated again, why would they never become responsive again after being off sedation?

Once cardiac arrest occurs the circulation stops and the organ most sensitive is brain If the circulation takes more than 8 min the brain suffers maximum damage So the person behaves from unconscious to drowsy and agitated behaviour
