Is constant bp above 130/89 a sign of hypertension and do we need to start tablets for it. The day bp peak at 151/102 and low at 121/71.

Persons with no other comorbidities like Diabetes,  or Any other systemic disease BP upto 130/85 is  OK But they should constantly monitor the BP readings,  should follow 'DASH' DIET Which includes Diet rich in fibres Low salt consumption Moderate exercise Adequate hydration

The fluctuation in ur bp reading is more concern-able than just slightly increased bp. If u got bp monitor at home then do charting for 3 days and thrice a day. Visit ur nearest physician or cardiologist. Get ECG done and proper cardiac work up. Take care

Bp depends upon age, weight, stress,lifestyle and other medical conditions. In your case please bp is 130/90 which is a borderline condition, so don’t stress out!
