Hello
If fever persists beyond 5–7 days despite antibiotics, clinical review and investigations (CBC,
CRP, urine routine ± culture, etc.) are essential
Meftal-P: Correct and safe for a 1.2-year-old child, if used short-term and not on an empty stomach. Should not exceed 3 doses/day.
Amoxiclav: Correct for a 1.2-year-old, if given in the appropriate dose (usually 2.5–5 mL twice daily) for the right indication.
If fever persists despite 5–7 days of antibiotics, further evaluation and possibly a change in antibiotics is needed — don’t just extend the course.
Next Steps
Ensure adequate fluids and rest
Maintain nutrition with soft, easily digestible food
Continue Meftal-P or Paracetamol only as needed for fever
