Hello there...., You may not need rabies prophylaxis immune globulin or vaccine...this is because rodents like rats or squirrels are not considered rabies vectors..
they don't survive long enough after an attack by a rabid animal to incubate and spread rabies...... but if you notice pus, significant swelling of the area, or redness or pain extending away from the area....., consult your Physician as there could be an secondary bacterial infection.....
