Advice on surgery

2025-02-11 07:36:44
I had severe stomach pain followed by jaundice few months ago, and was in the hospital for few days. Doctors suggested it might be gallstones and ERCP procedure was done to clear bile duct. However no stones were found but only sludge. EUS procedure also did not find any issues with the gallbladder. Doctor still mentioned that the stones might have passed out by the time ERCP was performed and recommend the gallbladder removal surgery. I am now feeling just fine with normal diet with little to no symptoms and pain. Should I still go for the surgery or wait and watch to see if the pain recurs?

It might be because of passed out stones. Since sludge was cleared during ERCP, there is high likelihood of reformation of new stones causing symptoms & complications.
Next Steps
It is better to undergo surgery to remove the gall bladder.
