A lump in vein near IV site on hand

I had blood transfusion 20 days ago through IV on back of hand. There was a lump on vein where the needle end. It was the size of a red bean initially and after I rubbed it several times, the size doubled. It's painful when I pressed on it or when the skin is stretched tightly.
