Amlodipine vs Telmisartan
I was diagnosed with essential hypertension and doctors in US has prescribed metoprolol 50 and amlodipine 5 mg...My BP is now under control .Systolic is in the range of 110-120 and diastolic in the range of 76-87. Doctor in India has asked me to take telmisartan40 instead of amlodipine. Please suggest if I need to witch over to telmisartan and what are the benefits of telmisartan over amlodipine.
