Alopecia areata
Last week, i found an alopecia areata patch at the back of my head. I tried to check the vitamins level in the body and found the following - Vitamin D2 - 2ng/ml Vitamin D3 - 6.07ng/ml I was wondering if lower d levels is acting here as a trigger for alopecia?? Other vitamins levels are as follows: Vitamin B12-:252 pg/ml Vitamin B1 -: 1.2 ng/ml Vitamin B2 -: 11.52 ng/ml Vitamin B3 -: 2.93 ng/ml Vitamin B5 -: 98.05ng/ml Vitamin B6- : 15.54 ng/ml Vitamin B7 -: 1.07 ng/ml Vitamin B9 -: 0.98 ng/ml Vitamin K -: 0.24 ng/ml Vitamin E -: 13759 ng/ml Vitamin A -: 416.75 ng/ml

Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune disorder it means the immune system itself attacks the hair follicle this might start with one or more circular blad patches that may overlap .

Though nutritional deficiencies play some role in hair loss, and delaying in adequate recovery, it is an autoimmune disease. Just correcting your diet won't clear it. Granted, if single, the a areata may clear, but it will take months and may even progress. Best to get medications along with guidance on supplements and diet

Alopecia areata is hairfall in patches and it is common due to lack of vitamins and minerals but there can be an underlying cause as well. A detailed clinical history and Hair analysis will help us to know the picture clearly and also help in for prescribing medication and treatment if necessary.
