It takes 4 to 6 weeks for any child to have bilirubin level below 1 ( normal adult value is below 1) ... it is a normal phenomenon.. and at 9 days of age value of 7 is absolutely normal. DO NOT USE ANY FORM OF MEDICINE FOR JAUNDICE. ONLY QUACKS PRESCRIBE DRUGS  FOR NEONATAL JAUNDICE WHICH IS NORMAL.
Next Steps
continue you breast feeding every 2 hours or on demand and do burping after every feed.
Health Tips
visit near by pediatrician for weight check up after 1 week

About 1/3 rd of normal babies suffer from neonatal jaundice called physiological jaundice not requiring any treatment when the level is upto 12 mg / dl. It appears on the 2nd or 3rd day and peaks on 3rd 4th day & goes away in a week to 10 days.So a level of 7 mg / dl on the 6th day  is well within the range. Since the child is 9 days old, you need to show him to your paediatrician who will further do a clinical assessment of the level of jaundice , whether increased or decreased.

It is normal in newborns. Almost all babies will have some amount of jaundice because of liver immaturity and other factors. So nothing to worry as the levels are within safe range. So your pediatrician didn't prescribe any treatment.  Only if the levels reach near 15mg/dl photo therapy is required. It is self limiting one. It will go slowly over 2-4 weeks. Plz be under your pediatrician follow up.  If you see any increase in yellowness of the skin contact him immediately.
