87-years, heart attack, Angioplasty?
87-year old Grandma, not diabetic, no history of High BP or heart disease, had had a silent heart attack. Complained of breathlessness after a few days, and subsequent tests revealed heart attack and a weakened heart. Pulmonary edema was treated successfully with lasix. Pulse & saturation were stabilized. Should we go on for Angioplasty?

Age is not a factor for doing angiography or angioplasty anymore but yes general health condition and the condition of vital organs like liver and kidney has to be considered meticulously before doing any in visit procedure on the other hand she has a documented Heart Attack and Cardiac dysfunction which puts her on a higher risk for sudden cardiac death so if her general conditions allow at least and angiography should be done to check the condition blockage level of coronary arteries and then it can be decided if she needs an angioplasty or not but angiography can only be done if she is not in any kind of failure or pulmonary edema
