7 month baby not drinking water at all
My baby is not drinking water at all. She is not sucking the bottle nipple the moment she understands it's water. I have tried offering via spoon katori, dropper. She spits out the water completely. Any suggestions please. She is mostly on formula and solids.

Hello , your concern is common and genuine. If the baby is taking formula feeding well along with complimentary feeds and passing urine well (5-7 times a day) then it’s alright. You can try with different kind of cups/ glass to give water. You should offer some after drinking from similar cup
Next Steps
It’s alright if your baby’s hydration is maintained
Health Tips
Can consult me Dr Tejan for step by step guidance and management of solids as well

No need to worry. There is enough water in mother's milk and other foods which you give. If the baby is passing urine many 6 times a day, he is adequately hydrated. This is usually not an issue. Visit your pediatrician for a check up if in doubt

Hello ma'am, Babies do face a problem when water or any food item is suddenly introduced. Try offering water after solids in small amounts, don't be forceful with the child. If the child is between 6-9 months, try giving solids 2-3 times  a day. You can give solids 3-4 times a day for baby who is 9 months to 1 year of age. If the child is above 1 year try giving solids atleast 5 times a day with 3 major meals and 2 snacks. Offering solids frequently will make the child feel thirsty and will slowly adapt to water. Don't offer milk after the feeds.
Next Steps
1. Be patient with the child 2. Bring down formula and increase solids 3. offer water in small quantities 4. Allow the baby to share meals from your plate; babies are more comfortable when parents eat along with them. 5. Drink water in front of the baby , slowly he will try to drink after being curious 6. Try to avoid bottles for water or any other drink. Help the baby learn to eat from utensils slowly and patiently.
Health Tips
This is a normal behaviour which babies express, takes time and patience to settle. Be confident , there is nothing to worry.
