3 meals or more in a day?

How many times one should take meals in a day? Some says 3 times, and some says 5-6 times. The motor in our body generally takes 3 hours to move food from small intestine. If we take frequent meals(5-6), won't it create problem for motility and cause SIBO(small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)?

Hi there.. three usual meals with three small snacks is recommended.. having small frequent meals keeps your digestive system active and even your basal metabolic rate wil be high and helps you burn that extra weight.. the total amount of food which you would have thrice, divide it and have 5-6 times per day... if you have frequent heavy meals leads to delayed gastric emptying time and later increased food load in small intestine which becomes good source for bacterial growth leading to Sibo...
