2month old coughing with mucus
Hi i am 5 month pregnant scoliosis patient.and my 1 lung is damaged because of curvature of spine I had Tb in 2015. From dec i felt some lil bit coughing with mucus after get treatment there is no relive later in jan to feb it cured on its own. Then on march i get cough, mucus and breathing issues. My pulmologist gave me on 30/3/2020 AUGMENT 625 i had no relife. Then he gave me on 14/4/2020 nebuliser duolin and budesonide nebulizer with others medicine for 20days then i got some relife.now on 7/5 he gave me flutrol 400 inhaler and nebluzier on urgent basis.and now my coughing all the time.i dnt know what is the problem. And he prescribe me for COPD and old koch.I am not a smoker or past smoker history. I just want to know is really is it true i am copd patient?

It may or may not be COPD. From your history and symptoms, there is a possibility of post tubercular bronchiectasis in which there is lung damage and recurrent infections. We need xray and further imaging to confirm this which we cannot do now that you are pregnant. You can continue inhaler and nebuliser and refer to your pulmonologist if any new symptoms occur.

Hi. I understand your concern s..yes it is probably COPD. Please follow the treatment of the treating doctor regular use of inhalers is a must. And keep a regular follow up with your treating doctor.

You seem to have posttubercular bronchiectasis which may be causing obstructive symptoms along with your scoliosis .Copd is obstructive  lung disease which may have multiple causes including your condition.

yes true its not copd due to smoking but yes it can be similar airway disease which commonly develops post tb. treatment for which is in the form of inhaler or nebulisation. plus you already have scoliosis and destroyed or affect one lung,in that case lung volumes reduces further. before commenting on further course of treatment would like to see xray and other reports!

May be you having COPD Tuberculosis is probable risk factor for tuberculosis
