Born and brought up in Punjab with Malayali roots, Dr. Align Tom brings together cultural sensitivity, clinical excellence, and a patient-centred approach to women’s healthcare. She is currently practicing as a Consultant Gynecologist at Welcare Hospital, Vyttila, Kochi, Ernakulam, Kerala, where she provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care.
Dr. Align Tom completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana in 2016, followed by her Master of Surgery (MS) in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore in 2023. Her training at these premier institutions has equipped Dr. Align Tom with strong clinical judgment, evidence-based practice, and hands-on expertise in managing both routine and complex women’s health conditions.
From 2016 to 2025, she has independently performed more than 5000 normal and instrumental deliveries, including a normal vaginal delivery of a 5.36kg baby, with no neonatal or maternal complications. And performed more than 1500 caesarean sections, and managed high risk obstetrics independently.
Her clinical expertise extends to conducting normal, instrumental (forceps and vacuum), and caesarean deliveries, as well as managing obstetric emergencies such as severe pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, gestational diabetes, multifetal pregnancies, cardiac disorders in pregnancy, sepsis, and postpartum hemorrhage.
In the field of gynecology, Dr. Align Tom has significant experience in the diagnosis and management of abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, adenomyosis, ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, infertility, and pelvic organ prolapse. She is skilled in both open and minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures, and has independently performed laparoscopic surgeries including total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy, laparoscopic cystectomy, and sterilization procedures.
