Dr. Sanjeev Mohanty performed two surgeries for my mother about 2 weeks ago. I came across Dr. Sanjeev Mohanty’s profile while looking to get a second opinion from a senior and experienced doctor. As I was not in town, I sent my mother to Dr. Mohanty for a diagnosis and suggestion on what action needs to be taken. After the visit, my mother said the doctor made her feel very comfortable and that he very patiently answered any questions that she had. After speaking to him myself, I realized he is one of the few doctors who has the qualities that a patient always looks for – he is very good listener and patiently listened to us before answering our questions. He communicated the issue clearly in a way that we can understand and make an informed decision. He is very empathetic and makes the patients feel cared for. He did not push us for the surgery, but his approach and his way of explaining the situation convinced us. After talking to him, I was convinced that if the surgery had to be done, it must be done by none other than Dr. Mohanty. That is the kind of rapport and trust that we had developed in two meetings. Above all this, one of the qualities of the doctor that I was very impressed with was his willingness to speak to my family physician and keep him in the loop before planning the go ahead for the surgery. Two days before the surgery, I fell sick and was unfit to accompany my mother to the hospital and stay with her. I requested the doctor, and he accommodated my request to even postpone the surgery by a couple of days. I don’t think any other doctor would have so willingly accommodated this kind of request in the eleventh hour. I cannot thank him enough for doing this.
