I would like to start by thanking Dr. Somasundaram and the team at Prashanth Hospital for their commitment and dedication. This is with regard to my father’s treatment. Dr. Somasundaram has been extremely helpful throughout. His kind nature and approachability at all times go a long way in assuring the patient’s family that they are in good hands. To sum up:

• he patiently explained and answered all our questions about the ongoing treatment

• he oversaw and ensured that we got a 360degree health chart prepared for post discharge care.

• his attentiveness and swiftness about judging the health issue has helped us tremendously.

It would be incomplete on my part if I don’t mention one point.

On the day of the discharge, Dr. Somasundaram personally supervised to ensure that the insurance procedure was done smoothly at the hospital billing. He personally coordinated with the billing staff which is such a rarity. This obviously doesn’t fall under his purview of work but he went a mile extra to help us. It proves that Dr. Somasundaram is not only a good doctor but also a great person. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN.

Dr. Somasundaram has the highest standards of professional ethics and medical expertise. My family is indebted to him for saving my mother from an incorrect diagnosis and course of treatment. My mother was exhibiting very peculiar symptoms like eye ptosis, body numbness and weakness. With spinal and other miscellaneous complications ruled out, she was referred to another neurologist initially who declared that the diagnosis was myasthenia gravis, though the antibody tests did not conclusively point to it! As a family, we were given the option of plasmapheresis (costing 6lakhs) or intensive immunotherapy (costing 12 lakhs) which did not seem right because the tests did not seem conclusive! After consulting an additional two neurologists, we finally came across Dr. Somasundaram and his patients' experiences with his treatment. After the first examination, he said he knew what the disease could be, asked us to take that exact blood test and indeed, came to the correct diagnosis of stiff person syndrome! Because of his to-the-point and proactive identification, he was able to quickly start the relevant treatment as my mother was till that point not on any corrective medication because of all the previous incorrect diagnoses. Three months down, my mother has made a rapid improvement in her health and not a day goes by that we don't think of what her condition would have been of not for Dr. Somasundaram's expertise. Among doctors that choose the most lucrative diagnosis possible from each patient, we are grateful to have heard of Dr. Somasundaram at the right time and his intervention has saved my mother from a harrowing, intensive and incorrect treatment especially given her fragile medical history. A thorough professional through and through.

He listens very patiently to all queries and responds in a very proper manner sharing the logic and explaining the same very properly. Depicted empathy towards patient, always approachable. Gave so much confidence to us that incase of any emergency he will be there immediately. Even post treatment and discharge he has given his contact no and is ready to guide us once we share reports with him on whats app. We couldn’t have asked more from him.

Dr. Somasundaram’s patient treatment and care, for my eighty year old father, was truly outstanding! He went over step by step treatment plan and made us feel comfortable in a difficult situation. My father had met with an accident and precautionary CT scan led to diagnosis of a condition called 'Subdural Hygroma' (this was not a direct result of the accident). We came to consult Dr.Somasundaram after having visited 3 different doctors/hospitals to consult him for this condition.

The other doctors suggested immediate surgery to drain the fluid from Head or putting an injection to drain fluid etc as this is a life-threatening issue but Dr.Somasundaram considered other factors like patient medical history, Age, Sugar, BP etc and based on his expertise and experience suggested that surgery was not the best option and told us to monitor him further and told us to be conscious of any other anomalies / symptoms of brain; he also told us to treat other issues first (we were so worried because of the brain condition that we almost forgot about treating other accident related injuries!).

Few precautionary tests/scans and consultations later Dr.Somasundaram assured us that there is nothing to worry and told my father to resume his normal routine.

I am writing this 4 months after the accident and the diagnosis of the condition - My father is absolutely fine now. My family will be eternally grateful to him.

Very empathetic. Tracks even minute details. Prescribes minimum medication and easily accessible. Provides comfort and allays fears. Overall, an excellent neurophysician and certaintly we will suggest to our friends and relatives for any neuro related health issues. I feel glad that I got in touch with Dr.Somasundaram for my mother's stroke treatment. I had giddiness problem followed by an accident. It is easy to get in touch with doc via phone. Doctors appointment was very easy to schedule via phone and some times via message. And doctor is on time to appointment. He has a good bedside manner like compassion towards patient, honest and clear and concise communication. His treatment made me to recover soon.
