My father in law had a serious issue with his spine. He underwent a spine stabilization surgery ** ****** ******** ****** **** in August 2019. Which was an absolute lost cause. We wnet back to again and again to set it right, but to no avail.

By November of 2019 he was almost laid up in bed.. at this time only we were referred to Dr. Muralidaran at apollo hospital Perungudi. We mde an appointment with him and he explained to us in very clear manner what the problem was and also what can be done to set it right..

We were sceptical about under going such a mjor surgery again with in 6 months time , considering his 73 years age.

But Dr. Muralidaran was very confident that it can be performed with very minlmal risk...which in turn gave us confidence m.

He had advised us ,how best the surgery can be done and he had told us that with in 6- 8 weeks he will be able to walk.

Cages and screws were put along the spine at 8 levels . He was in the hospital for 5 days and then he was back home. Where he recaptured very well. As assured by the doctor he was able to walk with help of walker in 2-3 weeks with in 8 weeks he was able to walk well.

After surgery visits were also hassle free.. we are so relieved now. He is walking much better with out support and he is able to perform all his work by himself. He had prescribed very little medicine always advising that taking lots of medicine is not good in the long run.

He is also always available if we have any issues or doubt. Very approachable.

We truly had a great experience interacting with Dr Muralidharan who was extremely kind, considerate, honest and helpful. He and his colleague suggested us to consult an Oncologist. Dr Muralidharan said he would happy to meet or speak with the Oncologist to explain about the patient's condition and his assessment once we let him know who and when we would visit the Oncologist. When I called on his mobile, at a relatively short notice, to let him know about our Oncologist appointment, he immediately answered the call and since we were going to another Apollo hospital where Dr Muralidharan was going to perform a surgery, he said he would quickly drop by to meet with the Oncologist. As promised he arrived before our appointment and took time to explain to the Oncologist about the patient. Later in the afternoon he called to follow up with us. I was beyond impressed with my experience with Dr.Muralidharan spine surgeon. My first contact with Dr.Muralidharan made me completely blown away by how helpful and kind he was and how fast he was at getting back to find solution for the problem.

Coming to the main picture, I had a severe leg pain and was unable to walk even a single step, consulted few medical college professors and leading orthos in the city but none could help me to sort out the issue. Most of them advised pain killers for temporary relief.

But when I visited Dr.Muralidharan spine surgeon at Chennai Ortho and Spine Center, Adyar he took time and carefully analysed and found out the underlying issue, it was a compressed sciatic nerve that was causing severe pain on my thigh while walking. He explained the whole problem taking time and also advised the practical dos and donts that I need to follow to avoid the problem in future.

He advised me few physio exercise and vitamin tablets, I recovered 80% the very next day and within a week I was able to do my routines and other tasks regularly.

One of the best thing is, he is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated and is not money motive. He charges a very reasonable cost for the care and service he offers. He takes time for each patient until finding the underlying cause and solution for the same.
