PROF. MAYIL V. NATARAJAN is the 7th Vice-Chancellor of The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai. He was the Director of Institute of Orthopaedic and Traumatology, Madras Medical College and Government General Hospital, Chennai.He is an Orthopaedic Surgeon, recognized for his pioneering work in Orthopaedic Oncology. He introduced the concept of Limb Salvage Surgery by Custom Mega Prosthesis as early as 1988. He established Orthopaedic Oncology as a Sub-Specialty in Orthopaedic Surgery in India. His personal series of 1700 cases of Custom Mega Prosthesis is the largest number by a single surgeon in the whole world. He has designed and invented 8 types of Custom Mega Prosthesis which have been patented.He has received 3 National Awards from the President of India, Shri. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, during his tenure : (1) Dr. B. C. Roy National Award (2004), (2) National Award for Welfare of the Disabled (2005), (3) Padma Shri Award (2007).Internationally, he was the first Indian to be the President of the Asia Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumour Society. The Royal College of Surgeons of England conferred the Fellowship of the College. The British Orthopaedic Association honored him with the Honorary Fellowship.

Excellent explanation in a friendly manner, answered all our doubts politely. When most of the doctors threatened to remove the plate fixed in my right leg, he is the only doctor given explanation clearly and informed no surgery needed. Doctor was very helpful and service minded.

****** ** ************* I went for a second opinion. Se said the exact same thing which my first doctor told . I only have issue with the fee. On Practo it is mentioned 1000 wherein I was charged 1500. Receptionist said it is up to doctor how much they charge. I never knew fee varied from patient to patient .
On top of 1500 I was charged 250 as registration fee and 500 for physiotherapy session ( 500 is Justified )
Do not recommend him from fees point of view
First of all he never mind the appointment time even if you fix appointment 6 o'clock he sees a patient around 10 o'clock secondly when i consulted for my wife for some footproblem he blinked and his priscription pr
didn't work . For me it's shear loss of time money and effort. I am totally disappointed
My mom had been to hospital and it was for shoulder pain. ********* *** **** ** *** ******* I can surely recommend doctor to my family or friends circle. We are old patients of him. There was waiting time when we went. It was for 1 hour. Physiotherapy was suggested. Doctor was very friendly.

My daughter aged 11 experiencing difficulty in walking ,especially on her right foot. She had spine surgery at the age of one because shed had no sensation on her right foot. After surgery she has gained the sense however the the growth deficiency is still their.
