Dr. S.Sridevi is a Lifestyle Medicine Consultant at Desire Aesthetics. She completed her undergraduate medical training from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai. She did her Diabetology course in Annamalai University and Masters in Biochemistry from Sree Balaji Medical College, BiochemistesChennai.She is a Life member in Antiaging Medicine and Research(AMAR), European Society of Lifestyle Medicine, Associations Biochemists of India, Indian Medical Association.She practices Lifestyle Medicine which involves the therapeutic use of scientific evidence-based lifestyle factors like nutrition, exercise, stress management and other modalities to treat, prevent and reverse lifestyle related diseases like obesity, accelerated aging, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and other chronic non-communicable diseases.She is passionate about weight and aging management. She stays up-to-date on the research articles published in scientific journals and applies the evidence in a management of obesity and aging.She has an in-depth knowledge about body biochemical metabolism which she applies to manage obesity and aging.She promotes weight loss in a healthy way. She is against losing weight at the expense of health and emphasizes that the side benefit of losing weight should be the gain of health and more productive life.Her program in age management is based on the fact that, right diet, appropriate lifestyle intervention, and drug therapy can ”turn off” the gene responsible for aging. She is also a fitness enthusiast and guides her clients with the right type of exercise to boost their health, beauty, and mood.She feels that the growing epidemic of childhood obesity is worrying and likes working with children and their families to transform their lives. She has a keen interest in educating her clients about how to prevent poor lifestyle related cancers like Bowel cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer etc.,She strongly believes that ”No one size fits all” and her programs are tailored to individual’s lifestyle and their cultural beliefs. She empowers the individuals with the knowledge and life skills to make effective behavior changes.Her goal is to reduce Lifestyle -related diseases in the society through clinician- directed interventions with patients.
