It's with great Happiness and excitement, we are sharing our experience with Dr.Ramya here.Just a week after the lockdown was announced in March 2020, we came to know that my wife was 1 month pregnant. We were looking for a gynaecologist very near to our home and found Dr.Ramya. It was a blessing in disguise for us!!Dr.Ramya was very professional, friendly and patiently listened to us always. As my wife had a few miscarriages earlier and is in the 'High Risk' age group, we were a bit worried. The restrictions imposed during the lockdown also increased our anxiety. But the doctor made us feel very comfortable and we had a very pleasant experience in all the consultation sessions with her. She gave us her complete support and the entire pregnancy term went like a breeze with no issues. She took time to explain things in detail and also educated us on different aspects related to pregnancy and delivery. We even had a Whatsapp group during the last few weeks and she made herself available outside regular consultation hours to share Test reports and clarify all our doubts!!We were blessed with a Healthy Baby Daughter 2 weeks ago!! Our special Thanks & Regards to Dr.Ramya and team for the extraordinary care and support they gave us.Highly Recommend!!
We have consulted Dr Ramya for the pregnancy and delivery of our second kid. Overall, it's been a great experience of interacting with the doctor throughout the entire 1 year. She listened and patiently addressed all our queries at various stages of pregnancy. She also shared her personal phone number and she called us to check on the status multiple times (before and after the delivery). Since we had an emergency pain 1.30AM on the day of delivery, we called her at midnight. Doctor quickly arranged the team and helped us in delivery of baby @ 3.30 AM. We also got an exceptional support and care after delivery. Despite C-section, we could get discharged within 3 days and recover faster. We would like to record our heartfelt gratitude and many thanks for the Doctor.
The doctor listened to our problem patiently and explained the right solution clearly.*** *** *** ******** *** ** ********* ******

Q: Who is a Gynaecologist?
A: Gynaecology is the medical specialization that deals with the female reproductive system. Hence, a Gynaecologist is a doctor who specializes in the health and the problems of the female reproductive system that includes the vagina, ovaries, uterus and breasts. Additionally, gynaecologists are also trained in Obstetrics and hence can deal with pregnancy and child birth too.
Q: Is there a difference between Gynaecologist & Obstetrician?
A: Where a Gynaecologist deals with the health and wellbeing of the female reproductive system, an Obstetrician specializes in pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care. A Gynaecologist is trained in Obstetrics too. Hence, when a woman is pregnant, she can either consult a Gynaecologist or an Obstetrician, but for issues related to the female reproductive system, she should consult with a Gynaecologist.
Q: What are the common procedures performed by a Gynaecologist/Obstetrician?
A: Gynaecologist: 1. Dilation and Curettage (D&C) – The uterine lining is removed either by suction or with a curette. 2. Hysteroscopy– A hysteroscopy treats minor conditions inside the uterus in a non-invasive manner. Obstetrician: 1. Normal delivery - An Obstetrician helps in childbirth. 2. C-section – In case of any complications, the Obstetrician operates on the patient to ensure safe childbirth.
Q: Does a Gynaecologist/Obstetrician treat infertility in women?
A: Yes, a Gynaecologist/Obstetrician is trained to deal with infertility and related health issues in women. Consulting a Gynaecologist can be a great way to understand and evaluate the reason for infertility and explore the various avenues of treatment available. In case of infertility in women, you should consult with your Gynaecologist/Obstetrician, who will then refer to a specialist if required.
