The doctor started his career in the year 1986. He completed a direct M.Ch. 5-year Neurosurgery Course in Madras Medical College, Chennai. Later on, he took a Diplomate in Neurosurgery and cleared in AIIMS, DELHI, in 1992 in his first attempt. He went to the UK in 1992 and worked there till 1998 in the prestigious Walton Neurosurgical Centre, Liverpool, UK.
Dr. B.Chendil Nathan cleared FRCS in England and also the FRCS (INTERCOLLEGIATE Neurosurgery) examination. This was awarded by all Four Royal Colleges of the United Kingdom to Dr.B.Chendilnathan, The only Neurosurgeon Bestowed with this Honour in south India so for. He returned to India in 1998 and worked as a Professor of the Neurosurgery Department in GH, Chennai from 1998 to 2005.
