When we are experiencing distress it is easy to lose touch with our inner strength and wisdom. I foremost try to reconnect you with this strength and wisdom. My therapy approach is best described as an Integrative and tailor made eclectic approach. My therapeutic work is focused on helping patients end needless suffering and curtail self-defeating behavioural patterns that result in depression, despair, alienation and dependency as well as a variety of addictions. I try to focus on each patient\'s unique strengths in addition to their conflicts and struggles. I am interested in my patients finding a personally meaningful way of dealing with life and it\'s challenges.? I select primarily from these psychotherapy orientations: Cognitive-Behavioural, Psychodynamic, Narrative and Humanistic-Existential therapy, Client Centred therapeutic model with Dialectic Behavioural approach, Individual Therapy, Psycho educational Intervention, and Supportive – Expressive Group therapy .Systematic Desensitization. Visualization techniques / Guided Relaxation techniques. The Integrative approach empowers one not only to solve personal problems but also to achieve psychological growth and a sense of well-being. Treatment is initiated through two 50-minute preliminary assessment appointments, where information concerning current stressors, psychological history and presenting symptoms is gathered to formulate a starting point for treatment. If necessary, I may ask for prior therapist or physician information (with your permission). Both therapist and client work together in defining specific therapeutic goals. Therapy can be short-term (6-10 sessions) or longer, depending on the presenting problem. Therapy is focused on changing self-defeating thinking and behavior patterns while enhancing your personal strengths. During therapy, you will be provided the necessary guidance, education and support to achieve successful treatment. No two clients are the same, therefore I believe therapy should be personalised. Therapy is a creative process developed in the synergy between the psychologist and the client. Therapy is a process of change, not just one of talking. I also believe that mindfulness and spirituality can play an important part in the therapeutic process. I am also Practising Psycho-oncologist. I have helped Cancer Patients and their families’ individuals, partners, and loved ones learn how to cope with and navigate a chronic illness. For many years offering counselling and psychological support to patients suffering from cancer and their families.
