Sexologists deal with human sexuality and its many aspects such as functioning of the sexual organs, sexual behaviours and interests. Sexologists treat men and women, children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. These doctors use tools from any different branches of science such as biology, psychology, medicine, sociology etc. As the importance of sexual health is being recognized, the taboo of consulting a sexologist is gradually fading away.
There are many reasons why a person may choose to consult a sexologist. This ranges from physical issues such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and a lack of lubrication to psychological issues such as performance anxiety, reduced libido etc.
