BRIEF

I am having hypertension and diabetes for the last 15 years. About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with OSA(obstructive sleep apnea) after 'sleep test' by a pulmunologist. But my sleep was not sound and the nose used to get blocked after 4 or 5 hours of sleep and then I was forced to remain awake with sleep deficit day after day. This was even after usage of CPAP machine night after night.My workplace is UAE and whenever I visited Bangalore my nose used to get clogged which required me to visit doctor. In fact I was recommended to go for surgery of Deviated Nasal Septum(DNS).

PATHFORWARD

My cardiologist with Burjeel Hospital - Abu Dhabi insisted that I should go for DNS surgery. In fact I was seeing this cardiologist for the first time in August 2023 after my earlier cardiologist with another hospital was out of town.

SEARCH FOR AN ENT SURGEON

I was scheduled for vacation in Bangalore and thought to get the surgery done for OSA. I tried to get hold of a good ENT doctor by seeking help through various social media groups. I browsed through the internet and got to see Dr. Diptarka Bhattacharya's profile.

With prior appointment I visited Dr. on 31st Oct'2023. Dr. Diptarka heard about my health issues. He then explained me the options available. It was a detailed explanation which is even understandable to any layman. The first thing he asked for was to get the CT scan of nose / skull. Within an hour of CT scan report and its analysis the surgery date was fixed on 2nd Nov.2023.

The surgery was successful and I got discharged on 3rd Nov.2023 and on 9th Nov.'2023 splints were removed.

I have been suffering from consistent cold, continuous sneezing for a long time. Due to that my life was became miserable. I visited Dr. Diptarka for first time he suggest me to have a nasal CT Scan. After the scan results came we found that my septum is deviated. Dr. Diptarka suggested for the septoplasty and explained all my queries so patiently.It was my fist surgery and had lot of thought processing going on it and He clarified all my doubts and his explanation makes me go ahead . There is so much space in my nasal area now that it feels like I got a brand new heavenly nose!I really thankful to Dr. Diptarka for this awesome transformation. He helped me in every steps of my journey to get healed. My recovery at home was relatively smooth, thanks to the detailed instructions and support from Dr. Diptarka, Dr Anushree and his team. Also I want to thank Dr. Anushree , She is very kind and explained me things in detailed whenever I needed. I am also grateful for the excellent care I received at the Manipal Hospital.

Medical emergencies are never predictable for any one but in such a situation if anyone is in need of a General / GI /laparoscopic surgeon, then no doubt Dr.Viswanath S ( currently at manipal hospitals Sarjapur road) is the best a patient can get. In my case, I had sudden onset of pain on my backside right side which upon USG found out to be gall bladder stones and needed immediate surgical intervention to remove the gall bladder itself. I was referred to Dr Viswanath S at manipal hospitals, Sarjapur road and that was the first positive turn in my episode of pain. The Dr. was so comfortable to discuss the issues and the plan..he was so approachable and explained the issues and solutions very well. I found that just a couple of basic blood tests and I was arraigned for the laparoscopic surgery. No unnecessary scans or MRI or unwanted tests were prescribed. On the surgery day also Dr.Viswanath personally ensured that I was full of confidence and comfortable prior /during /after surgery. Dr Viswanath along with anesthetist Dr.Prasanna and his team made the entire procedure of laparoscopic cholecystectomy a completely comfortable, painless and hassle free experience for me. I was on rest for that day of surgery and the next day I was feeling much better and getting back to form, I was discharged immediately followed by rest at home. I am back to my normal life. No unwanted medicines post discharge. When things go unexpected and you need a medical help in such a situation, then an excellent doctor surgeon like Dr.Viswanath S and a good hospital like manipal Sarjapur is what you need.
