An ayurvedic massage is a method of body massage using warm herbal oils and traditional techniques, such as squeezing, kneading and applying pressure on specific points. It aims at providing relaxation and stress relief and releasing the emotional blockage.

Ayurvedic massage helps provide pain relief and relaxation, fat and weight loss, detoxification, cleansing, muscle toning, provide better sleep pattern, skin smoothening and increase stamina level.

A regular massage mainly focuses on muscle relaxation, while an ayurvedic massage additionally includes mind relaxation techniques and detoxification of the body.

The types of oil used differs based on the type of skin. Sesame, almond, avocado and bhringraj oils are considered warm and heavy and suitable for dry skin. Cooling oils such as olive, coconut, castor, sunflower and ghee, must be used. Stimulating oils such as mustard, or light oils, such as corn, flaxseed and canola are suitable for oily skin. All oils must be organic, unrefined and cold-pressed.
