Being a 26YO Fashion Features Editor, a women living independently in Bangalore, I realized after a whole day's workaholicasm I needed to come home to my furry pals to chillax. But my golden retrievers were in Chennai with my parents so being unaware of how to be a cat-parent I still went ahead and adopted an abandoned stray 2WO kitten.
Who would have ever imagined that this kitten 'Tyga' would end up having a fan following of a min.100 in both real life and his Insta life, while earning the name of Rowdy baby by the very Dr.Swati; and eventually travel miles to only become a brother to another furry paws ?
So here are a few words of wisdom from a cat pet parent (that too a Male one)-
1.I always knew there were super famous people in and around HSR for Vets, but something urged me to visit Dr.Swati to get Tyga get checked right from his baby days.
2.Dr. Swati is one of those humble, kind, genuine vets who loves animals and does her doctoral services as an act of compassion. No show-shaw, just simple, genuine act of a good veterinarian. That I adore and respect.
3. Tyga being a male cat did start showing his aggression from about 5 months but it was Dr.Swati's sound knowledge on animal behaviour that helped me understand Tyga better. As I have always been a dog parent, it was my first time being a cat parent and Dr.Swati became my support system while bringing up Tyga as a good cat inspite of his temperament issues.
4. It was only after a year we realized that maybe TYGA was a wild cat but then Dr.Swati with her assistants always knew how to handle cats and gave the right medication and treatments when it came to vaccination and spaying.
5. It was Dr. Swati who helped me preparing the whole Bangalore to Chennai travel with Tyga. She helped me with all the ways in which my golden retriever Coro and cat Tyga could get acquainted with each other, to live in peace, right from how to introduce them to each other, all the "TO Do's"...because I was spazzing out since both of them were dominant males and obviously a cat and dog.
6. To my surprise both Tyga and Coro become such good friends with all the to-dos and now after almost 6 months later have blended in with a brotherly love for each other.
7. Also a surprise would be Tyga's reduced temperament issues with the upbringing methods Swati ma'am adviced me. Also as cats are independent animals, Tyga found a heaven here in our garden villa at Chennai unlike his apartment life in Bangalore.
8. TBH, Dr. Swati is Tyga's godparent as a doc, because she loves him way too much till date and keeps a tab on his health, she even suggested me to take him along when I go to Paris... haha. But I guess my parents and my dog Coro can't let him go now. He is now family more than ever for us which he too knows and owns his rights as a true feline king of our fam.
9. With this review you might know, how rare it can be to find a genuine animal loving doctor like Dr.Swati. Even I had suggested another colleague + cat parent to visit Dr. Swati who are now regulars at her clinic.
I would say, visit her and you'll know how true my feelings for this amazing animal loving doc is.
