I would always be grateful to Dr.Sunder Narasimhan for the kind of treatment he has given to my father which in all aspects helped my father come out of a serious condition of Diabetic Foot.
It was on Sept 27 2019 that we first consulted Dr.Sunder Narasimhan at Apollo Hospitals Bannergatta road. My father was suffering from Dry Gangrene and the infection was spreading fast from his toes to his legs. He is diabetic and 62 yrs old. As soon as the doctor examined his legs,he was sure of the disease and suggested for an Angiogram. We got it done and the reports showed up to be disappointing, the blood flow in his legs was very thin. This had to be corrected before treating the Gangrene.
Dr.Sunder Narasimhan and his Team suggested that stent placement can be done,*** *** ** ***** ******** ** *** ******** ******* ** ***** ****** **** ********* *** *************We were heartbroken and this is when the doctor went ahead with a Bypass surgery for the legs. This procedure was conducted on Oct 3 2019 and it went on for 9 hours.
We trusted the doctors and we were not wrong in doing so.The operation was successful and the blood flow showed up to be normal.
This gave us more hope on his recovery.Slowly he was strong enough to walk on his legs and then there was still this infection in his legs that we had to deal with.
On 10th Oct 2019 my father was discharged for a week.
21st Oct 2019 , we got admitted in the hospital for his Toe Amputation process. On 22nd the operation was performed. One toe from each leg was amputed. For 3 days he was kept under observation.Since the infection had spread to one more toe , even that was amputed on 31st Oct 2019.
All through this process the whole team of Dr.Sunder Narasimhan was very supporting and hopeful which helped our family to survive such dreadful situation. For another one month, till Nov 18th 2019 ,my father was admitted for post operation recovery. After final discharge, when my father was healing, we were asked to visit the doctor on alternate days for dressing procedure for 4 months till 11th March 2020.
His legs were slowly recovering with continuous dressing and antibiotic course. We followed the antibiotic course as suggested by Dr. Vinay (Infectious Disease) and we also were suggested to go for Vacuum dressing for one leg which helped in healing procedure.
I would like to convey my heartfelt regards to Dr.Sunder Narasimhan , Dr. Manju Bharath , Dr .Jijo , Dr. Vinay (Infectious disease), Dr. Kalpana Janardhan( General Medicine), Nutritionist and Mr.Krishna Reddy (adivosary officer NMDC) for their timely advice and support.
Special regards to Dr. Basil for his continuous support throughout.
I thank all the nursing staff and cleaning staff for the commendable service.

I consulted Dr. Sunder Narasimhan for an unhealing wound on my right leg.
After examination it was found I was having constriction on inner veins. Even though I was skeptical about the treatment , but Dr.Sunder along with his team members have thoroughly explained about the issues and need for conducting Venogram/Venoplasty. And I would like to say that the procedure was very helpful and I can see the speed up in healment.
I would like to express my gratitude towards Dr.Sunder Narasimhan along with his team members ( Dr. Manju Bharath, Dr. Basil , Dr.Jijo) and all the nurses for their help. And will recommend Dr. Sunder to everyone looking for any Venious issues.

My father underwent angiography from a hospital after which he developed severe infection at the site of angiography. It led to extremely painful and debilitating false aneurysm, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. He was admitted in Apollo hospital Bannerghatta road in a very critical state. Dr. Sunder Narsimhan attended him and assured us that he would take care of any situation though risk was high. We felt like being in safe hands. The false aneurysm was constantly growing and needed immediate surgery but there being severe infection on the skin above it, surgery could spread the infection deeper. Hence Dr. Sunder treated it with an injection of thrombin with balloon control which reduced 80% of blood flow to the aneurysm. Max. dose of thrombin allowed had been given. Still aneurysm was so large, it kept growing.
Eventually as walls of the femoral artery had become weak so it ruptured causing acute bleeding. But for timely action of doctor Sunder it could have been disastrous. He immediately performed vein patch repair surgery and gave my father a fresh lease of life.
But biggest hurdle in the recovery was the multi drug resistant bacteria which my father contracted in the previous hospital. Inspite of giving the highest antibiotics available infection persisted due to which vein graft decayed. Again there was bleeding from the grafted artery. So another immediate surgery was performed by Dr. Sunder which involved ligation of artery by obturator bypass. After that my father got second lease of life.
He developed severe lymphorrhoea though, for which he required vacuum dressing for a few weeks.
But for the dedicated and committed efforts of Dr. Sunder and his skill, grit and determination the recovery of my father aged 84 years with multiple health problems would not have been possible. Dr. Sunder is highly proficient in state of the art modern vascular surgery techniques. Dr. Sunder exudes confidence and makes his patients feel safe and comfortable. He explains the problem and it's solution very well to his patients He must be one of the best vascular surgeons available in our country.
The hospital may be a little expensive but it is worth for the excellent patient care, health care and cleanliness they provide. We are really thankful to entire team of doctors as well as the nursing staff and the support staff for providing healing touch. May God bless all.....

During the middle of August, I was diagnosed with acute ischemia in the right foot. I immediately got myself admitted to St Johns hospital. The illness affected my right leg toe and four fingers. This observation was made even without proper examination of the limb. ** * **** ****** *********** ***** ** ***** ** ******** **** ******** we decided to consult Dr Sunder Narasimhan. After examining the limb, He immediately decided to take me into surgery without any further delay. He did an Angiogram and installed a stent in the right limb and amputated the dead cells and a small part of my right foot. He also pulled out a lot of clots from my right leg. This quick action on part of Dr Sunder Narasimhan led to a major part of my right limb being saved from further amputation. After continuous treatment and under the supervision of Dr Sunder Narasimhan, My right leg is well on the way to recovery. If vascular surgeons were to recommend only amputation of the limbs without actually studying/understanding the complete picture, many people will be without limbs. It is because of doctors like Dr Sunder Narasimhan that several patients manage to save their limbs from being amputated.I am always grateful for the services rendered by Dr Sunder Narasimhan and for saving my limb from being completely amputated.

I had visited Dr. Sunder Narasimhan for the treatment of my mother, who was diagnosed with thrombosis in the right subclavian artery and had less blood flow in her right arm. Initially we were suggested a stenting procedure which was required based on the CT Angiogram reports we had previously and Dr. Sunder Narasimhan thoroughly explained us the procedure he would perform.
But during the surgery doctor detected the clot to be more in length and the occlusion to be more than what it appeared in the CT reports. Doctor then advised us that stenting wouldn’t advisable given the length of the clot and that stent could get fractured as the stent would come on her shoulder bone. Then doctor explained us that he would carry out Balloon Angioplasty on the clot and her blood flow was seen to be back to normal. She has recovered completely without any further surgery and is keeping well and doing all her work by herself.
My sincere gratitude to Dr. Sunder Narasimhan and his team and attending nurses. I would highly recommend Dr. Sunder Narasimhan for any vascular problems.

Two years ago.upon severe burning sensation under my feet, I consulted a doctor in Mangalore who confirmed it was varicose vein issue after a doppler test and treated me initially. And I was asked to wear compression socks. Pain reduced a bit but my feet hurt as bad when I walked for more than half a kilometre. Upon repeatedly consulting the doctor, I was advised that compression socks were good and I managed for close to two years thereafter.
Two months back I developed unbearable pain behind the calf muscles and I was unable to walk for more than 100mts at a time. Upon resting it, I could walk another 100. Since the pain didn't reduce, the doctor asked me to consult an orthopaedic specialist who did an x-ray and gave tablets for a month. It didn't help. Later he did an MRI for Spinal examination and found no problem. He asked me to go for a peripheral artery Doppler test, which showed that the artery vein below the knee was completely blocked. I was advised to meet a cardiac surgeon who did a CT angiogram to confirm the same.
I was later asked by my general physician to contact Dr Sunder Narasimhan in Bengaluru's Apollo hospital. By now, I had lost hopes as the pain was unbearable and thought I would lose my leg. Upon coming to Apollo hospital on Bannerghatta road, I was immediately admitted and was taken under the care of Dr Sunder Narasimhan and his efficient team for the following week. A long challenging process began and the surgery lasted three days long. Peripheral angioplasty and Thrombectomy was conducted, and finally, the haematoma was evacuated on the third day of surgery.
Many bottles of blood, never-ending hours of OT time at a stretch each day, and after resting my hopes in the hands of experts, I have survived a three-day-long tedious surgery now. The cause for the condition is yet to be known. But had it been detected two years ago, a long and challenging surgery could have been avoided with medications alone. However, by the grace of Dr Sunder Narasimhan, his efficient team and their expertise, I stand to walk ahead longer and get ahead in life. Four weeks of recovery now, and I'm able to walk easily and I'm grateful for this narrow escape.

Before all the details below, I would like to thank Dr Sundar and his team for good treatment given to My father was suffering from arterial thrombosis.
My Father(age 64 years) was diagnosed by arterial thrombosis and I was worried on what to do next, we consulted in one of the hospital in my hometown and the Dr's there performed angioplasty which was not needed to be done.. Later I was looking for vascular surgeons in Bangalore and I head about Dr Sundar Narasimhan, I call call him on phone and explained about my father condition he quickly said not to worry and he can clear the issue with good care.
I visited him in Apollo hospital Bannerghatta road, as scheduled time he was very punctual. Though it was not his consulting day he can to OPD just for us. after going through the my father medical details, he recommended to undergo the surgery ASAP and also helped with hospital formalities.
I got my father admitted the next day and he visited us in the ward and without getting any delay he quickly got the hospital guy prepare for the surgery and with in few hours my father was taken to OT, from my fathers word as we was just on local and could understand and what the doctor was performing,(he was happy with the way doctor was interacting with him during surgery and the way we was getting things done in OT)
After the surgery (2 long hours) Dr. Sundar call me in the OT and showed me the clots that were taken from my father, he came with the good news that all the blocks were removed completely,( initially we were assuming that it would be 80-90%) by Dr. Sundar manager to take it all, they I understood that 2 long hours was worth waiting.
While in Recovery room and in WARD Dr. Sundar visited regularly was responded to all the queries. he also did the port operative dressing himself so that it would be good.
After discharge we visited him regularly he was right on time with the schedule time and responded to all the queries we had and guided us to the next steps.
My Father has recovered well now and I thank Dr Sundar very much for his support given to us.
He is little aggressive few times but overall he is good Dr for his works.
I would like recommend him for any vascular related issues.

My dad had not been in the pink of health following a pacemaker implant performed on him ( the procedure had to be repeated as the leads came off 4 days after the first implant; for inexplicable reasons per the cardiologist) in mid 2016 in Trivandrum. He was brought to Bangalore in Feb 2017 and within a few days of his arrival, developed inflammation on his face & neck and suffered from acute breathlessness. We consulted physicians & cardiologists ,surprisingly nothing major could be detected. He was then referred to the pulmonology team in Apollo hospital where detailed tests were performed, pulmonary issues were also ruled out. They then referred my dad to the vascular surgeon Dr Sunder Narasimhan. The Contrast CT scan revealed that my dad had SVC obstruction.
Dr Sunder performed peripheral angiogram on my dad to determine the extent of blockage and the course of treatment to follow. The family was shown the findings from the angiogram and explained the need for angioplasty which was the only way to address the blockage considering his old age. He apprised us of the risks associated if we went along with the procedure, and as a family we decided to go ahead with it, as not doing seemed far riskier.
The procedure went well and my dad was out of danger, the family remembers with gratitude the elated Dr.Sunder and his team come out of the theatre to share the good news. He gave us a run through of the procedure on the monitor, the images of the procedure were later shared with us. Dr Sunder’s passion & dedication to his profession is palpable; he has an infectious enthusiasm that rubs on the people around; lifts the spirits of the patient and his family. He flies off the handle at times , which I guess is his way of keeping his para medical staff on high alert all the time. Dr Sunder’s passion and capability instills the confidence in the team around him; the respect & regard for him and the way the team rallies behind him is testimony to that.
My dad’s health condition and confidence has improved significantly in the last one month, our profound thanks to the team at Apollo and more so to Dr. Sunder Narasimhan.

I am glad to know & meet Dr. Sundar Narasimhan (Vascular surgeon )and would like to share my case.
My mom who is in her late 50's has rheumatoid arthritis since 13 years and couple of months back ( June 2016 ) she had injured her left leg at home ( a minor cut ) for which she did take treatment under reputed doctors whose treatment resulted from "a small size cut gradually progressed to deep unhealthy wound resulting in ulcer" , due to which my mother could not move about freely. She faced a lot of pain.
Its shameful to say that these highly qualified doctors ( being vascular surgeons ) were unable to identify & realize that the wound wasn't showing any good sign under their 4 months treatment.
That is when I realized that we need to consult another doctor and I came across to meet Dr. Sundar Narasimhan - Apollo Hospitals.
My mom's second journey starts here,November 2016 ,but definitely ended on a very fruitful note with the guidance of Dr.Sundar.
We shared all our bitter experiences we faced earlier ,he patiently listened to us and within seconds he notified us on what had gone wrong. After the consultation with Dr. Sundar,he alarmed us that the ulcer had resulted in DVT " Deep vein thrombosis ",a blood clot (thrombus) which forms in the deep veins of the legs and would require the Angiogram and Angeoplasty and gave us 100% assurance on getting this healed. And YES HE DID IT.Today my mom is freely able to walk.
I would personally recommend if any of you have a similar problem , to kindly meet Dr. Sundar.
One of the most gratifying things about being a surgeon is that the job consists almost entirely caring for others and are ofcourse a great encouragement which I
found in you Doctor. With this note I want to extend a Heartfelt thank you for the miracle & fantastic care for my mother.
Thanking you,
Regards,
Sailatha Mallya
