I had recently taken my son for his routine dental check for the first time with Dr Shruti and after examination, she had communicated that he has ‘tongue tie’ and discussed the effects and benefits of getting it released. Like all parents I was kind of sceptical and anxious about this. But, I was able to relate to all the effects tongue tie could have on him. She assured me about the process and explained all the details involved. We finally made a call to go ahead with the release. It was a piece of cake for her to interact with kids and make them feel safe with her using those dental tools. She asked me to prepare my son mentally days before the procedure as to what he can expect/experience. Finally, the day of the release was upon us and my son was actually ready to go to the clinic to meet Dr Shruti. She once again welcomed my son enthusiastically and explained to him what she was about to do and assured him that she will listen to him and pause at any moment if he was uncomfortable or it was in any way painful. All went well and I went in to see the result of the procedure and I could see my son happily make funny faces with his tongue out. She explained to me how the procedure went and how cooperative my son was. She then explained to me what all I could expect that day in terms of pain or discomfort at the area of the suture and so on and so forth. She also did follow up with me over WhatsApp as to how my son was doing that night and the following day and told me not to hesitate to contact her in case of any doubt whatsoever. We all are happy with the unrestricted tongue movement he has now. I would strongly recommend Dr Shruti for any paediatric dental needs.

Dr.Shruthi Jayasuriya was a Godsend at a time when I was struggling to latch and  breastfeed my son. We had our first consultation with Dr.Shruthi at the Birthhome, JP Nagar when my son was 4 weeks old.  Right away she put us at ease with her friendliness, competent diagnosis and detailed explanation of treatment prescribed. As a pediatric orthodontist and a Board certified lactation consultant, I feel that Dr.Shruthi understands both the art and science of breastfeeding.  She recommended craniosacral therapy and suck training exercises for my son's tongue tie restriction rather than immediately going ahead with a release procedure. At our next consult at 8 weeks, she suggested a frenectomy to enable direct feeding while adequately warning us of the post procedure stretches, recovery hurdles and other issues we might face. This helped us make an informed decision on going ahead with the procedure. The procedure itself was professionally done with a second consulting doctor and competent nurses at a hospital with adequate facilities. Dr.Shruthi was in touch with us on whatsapp after the procedure to ensure that we did the stretches and to check on any issues or concerns we might be having post procedure. At our 1 week and 3 week consults, she was very patient and detailed in her responses to our anxious queries. Today,  my son is 6 months old and I exclusively breastfed him from the time he was 2.5 months old! Apart from her professionalism, Dr.Shruthi is extremely punctual and we  have never had a wait time every time we have met her! Overall, I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a pediatric orthodontist!

My baby boy was 2 months old when we were referred to Dr Shruti bg my LC. He had a moderate tongue tie. Shruti explained all about the tie and how it affects feeding process. She was very patient with all our questions and gave us time to decide if we want to get the tie released. She also explained about other alternatives like CST before going for a laser removal. I have consulted many other pediatric dentists after that for second opinion, but everyone said it is not necessary to remove the tie at 2 months. But since Shruti is an LC as well, we valued her opinion and went ahead for removal. The process was smooth. She explained the after procedure exercises as well and made sure we did thise regularly. After the procedure, she constantly followed with me on WhatsApp to check how the baby is doing. I can see a clear difference in his feeding pattern after 1-2 weeks of tie removal. Even after that, when baby had a thrush, she explained what to do to cure it very patiently on whatsapp. She is very friendly and approachable. Consultantion with her has completely changed our breastfeeding journey. My baby boy is 5 months old now and i have been exclusively breastfeeding since the Consultantion with her.
