I had disc bulge and disc degeneration (L5-S1) for over a decade with multiple episodes of severe back pain. I had developed leg pain over the past six months that became so excruciating that I was unable to stand or walk for more than a few minutes. I am a 31-year-old working woman, and this completely disrupted my personal and professional life. While I consulted several doctors, tried medication and physiotherapy, it was all in vain, until I consulted Dr. Kartik Revanappa and realized the severity of my condition. Dr. Kartik explained that the disc was severely compressing my nerves at the L5-S1 level, and advised for a lumbar decompression surgery to relieve the pressure. He patiently explained the entire procedure to me with all details and stages of recovery. He was available to answer my queries at all hours, both before and after the surgery.

I was admitted to Apollo Hospital Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore, the day before the surgery; the staff at Apollo were polite and caring. I was able to walk within a few hours after the surgery, and it felt almost surreal to not have any leg pain after spending months in agony. Like many people, I was apprehensive about spine surgery, but having the surgery has completely changed my life for the better. I am glad to have had Dr. Kartik as my doctor; his friendly demeanor, patience, care, and vast experience in his field gave me a lot of confidence. It’s been three weeks since the surgery, and my life is almost back to normal. I cannot thank Dr. Kartik enough for everything he has done to give me my life back.

I was suffering from lower back pain from last 5 years in April 2020 pain started radiating to my left leg and it was very severe where i was not not able to sit ,sleep and walk.I took MRI and Consulted Dr. K Kartik sir and patiently listened to my problems and symptoms and he explained me that the disc was severely compressing my nerve at the L4-L5 level and adviced for surgery.

Have you been able to see somebody happy and rejoicing on the fact that she can walk without feeling any radiations in the leg. Yes that is my mom's case.

We are from Cameroon and my mom since almost 5 years she was suffering from back pain and this become the last 2 years and severely the last past 7 months. My mom was brought to the Emergency department with history of sudden onset unresponsiveness following a fall at home on 22nd of May 2017. Her local examination showed that her left pupil was not reacting to light and right pupil 3.5 mm and not reacting to light..She was not moving the left upper and lower limbs..Her CT scan of the brain showed a large left fronto temporo parietal acute subdural hematoma with mass effect and midline shift of 1.87 cm to the right side..there was evidence of left uncal herniation, compression of the midbrain and dialation of right temporal horn..

Dr. Kartik was called and he explained me the seriousness of the condition and the need of an emergency decompression as a life saving procedure..

She was rushed to the OT and was done with the needed operation..Next day onwards, CT scan showed decrease in the mass effect and midline shift.. Dr. Kartik helped us in remaining ourselves calm and being patient..He explained us the situation very clearly. We knew her condition was not stable but by looking at Dr.Kartik's confidence, we were quite hopeful..My mom gradually regained consciousness and started moving all her four limbs and within ten days of admission, she was discharged in a hermodynamically stable condition..

I was suffering from back pain since and right leg pain for the last 11 years. Recently, since last six months pain had become very unbearable and I wasn't able to walk even a few steps. I was advised surgery long back. But I was afraid, hence did not undergo. I met Dr. Kartik Revanappa in Sep 2019. He did MRI and CT scan of my spine and explained me the problem in detail - L4-5 spondylolisthesis i.e. slipping of one spine bone over the other and pressing of leg nerves. After listening to Dr. Kartik Revanappa, I got the courage to get surgery. I underwent the surgery in Oct-2019. A few days after surgery my back pain completely reduced and leg pain reduced by almost 90%. It is now 2 months after the surgery. I'm absolutely fine and doing all my regular activities with some precautions as advised by Dr. Kartik.

I am just 34 years old, was suffering from severe low back pain and pain spreading down the right leg. It’s been 2 months completed for my mom’s spine surgery (lumber decompression). She is absolutely doing great and can walk without leg pain. She started doing few exercises as well.

All credit goes to Dr. Kartik Revanappa. He is someone who has vast experience in his field and has lot of patience to listen any problems which patient is suffering with. Then provide his suggestions.
