Dr Veena is a wonderful doctor, I Started consulting her from 3 months and she did my delivery via C section though she tried her best for normal delivery..my water broke at 7am and I called her..she asked me to to get admitted and she too reached the hospital in 30 mins..I remember calling her few times and she would answer all my calls patiently..she makes you very calm and does not prescribe any medicine unnecessarily..she will make you feel as if she is one of ur family members..not overprotective but not any less caring too..I remember once I had visited her for some silly reason and she came outside to tell the receptionist not to take my consultation charges..she even spoke to my mom in law about how to take care of me after delivery..I am super impressed by her and if I could I would ask everyone to go to her as in today's materialistic world, her treatment, words, positivity and vibes will give you an ultra humane touch..I strongly recommend her! Infact after my delivery I was upset that I wouldn't see her and I started showing my kid to pediatrician in same hospital so that I could see her at times..that much I used to adore her..I m lucky to be treated by her and I request all of you to entrust ur faith in her and be rest assured u won't be disappointed :) If you ever read this Dr.Veena thanks for treating me..this is Swayamsiddha Panigrahi and I love you :)

Dr Veena Acharya is very friendly , caring , attentive , experience and great Dr any one could have during pregnancy checkups , delivery , post delivery care . Though she consults at Laxmi maternity , Malleshvaram which is very far from our house ...just due to complete belief , faith in her ...we decided to consult her as Ours was twin pregnancy we found her very caring . She is very helpful and reachable over phone for any queries , concerns which are common during pregnancy ....and is always available for help . So much , that once we had to meet her for checkup due to sudden discomfort ..but after travelling for hr or so , we realised its not possible to reach hospital for checkup and she suggested us to get admitted at other hospital on the way ...and spoke with Dr on our behalf , asked for some checkup results ...and spoke with us in details conforming things are normal ...Enjoyed all scanning session due to her spontaneous reactions to baby movements :) ...Will be always grateful to her as she helped us to identify hospital near to our home in case things demand immediate attention at 11th hour ..but we managed to plan things better under her guidance upto last mile / minute :)

We were refereed by one of our family friends after my wife was conceived. She is an very ************* *** straight forward. She will not recommend unnecessary tests.

I was greatly impressed with her Ultra sound scan knowledge and expertise. I have rarely seen such expertise.

She treated us with utmost care and my wife delivered the bay in Lakshmi Maternity care, Malleswaram under her observation.

I would recommend you to blindly trust this doctor for any kind of gynecology related issues.

Dr veena acharya is expertise in her field and we are very happy with the treatment during entire pregnancy. She treats patients so well and understands them much better which itself is a big relief for the patient, we recommend dr veena for gynecology.

We were referred to her by our regular Gynecologist for 19-20th Week Anomaly Ultrasound scan.

Why were we referred?

We had faced no problem but still as a measure of caution, our Doctor referred to her.

What was detected during the Scan?

During the scan, an Echogenic intracardiac focus (EIF) was discovered in the scan.

What was her opinion?

The doctor refused to give us her opinion. These were her exact words - " EIF is found in around 10 % of fetuses. The risk of the fetus having Chromosome 21 disorder was 1:6000 during the 12th-week scan and still remains the same. However, some couples do go for Amniocentesis to rule out any anomaly. However, the risk of having a miscarriage after Amniocentesis is 1:300. So tell me what do you guys want? "

We asked her what would she recommend?

Her response: " Well, I can't recommend anything as everyone perceives risks differently"

I was aghast.

Why do we go to a doctor? To get their opinion as they are the subject matter expert. If as a patient seeking recommendation we could make sense of data, we would not need doctors and Pathlabs would have worked for all of us. How do we know 1:6000 is less or 1:300 is a risk worth going for.

It is well established that The EIF has a very different connotation in a low-risk patient when it is an isolated finding compared with one of several findings or when it is detected in a patient at high risk of aneuploidy based on prior testing.

Since our NT Scan and Double marker test were in the normal range, Isolated Markers doesn't present a significant risk. Most patients are now being offered first-trimester screening and are already designated at low risk or high risk well before their 16- to 20- week survey, when an EIF may be identified. By the time patients have the second-trimester sonogram, the population of fetuses with Down syndrome left undetected is very small—perhaps no more than 15%. It is, therefore, far less likely for an isolated EIF to indicate a fetus with Down syndrome in a population that has undergone first-trimester nuchal translucency and serum testing, where most affected fetuses already have been identified. Thus, the prior odds of Down syndrome obviously change dramatically when an EIF is identified as an isolated finding in such a population. The presence of an isolated EIF in a patient who has not undergone any testing has a far different connotation from one who has undergone the prior first-trimester testing and has received a low-risk result.

When told that there is a calcification in the fetal heart, most patients panic and fear the baby will be abnormal. And we did panic too. For good one week, we met many different doctors, went through different tests even though all these doctors told not to worry. This was largely because Doctor Veena had planted that seed of doubt.

Even with skillful counseling, there still remains, in many patients, a degree

of uncertainty as to whether or not amniocentesis should be done. Many of these patients ultimately undergo amniocentesis for risk of Down syndrome far below the accepted level for invasive testing.

Those who elect to forgo amniocentesis likely continue to worry about the health of their fetuses for 5-6 month until the baby is delivered.

Dr. Veena doesn't realize that she is putting a mom-to-be under severe stress by raising her hands and not giving her opinions. Moms to be are not supposed to be put under stress just because

1) few extra tests can be prescribed

2) doctors don't want to own up to risk

For all other parents to be >> “Soft” sonographic markers account for only a 4% increase in the detection of abnormalities while contributing a 12-fold increase in the false-positive rate."

Even at low risk, many patients who are found to have isolated soft markers elect to have amniocentesis, leading to many healthy fetuses dying of complications of unnecessary amniocenteses. So please be sure of going for amniocentesis.

I would also urge the doctor to counsel patients in case Isolate EIFs are discovered. **** ** *** ***** **** ** * ****** ** *** They should also have some empathy for their patients. Empathy was completely missing.

I hope doctors listen to this feedback, take it positively and inform the next parents accordingly in case Isolated marker is discovered. ***** **** ******** ****** ***** ** * *****************************************************************

This happened almost 2years ago. Based on the web feedback went for the consultations with her. She is very arrogant. As i had major complication in my first pregnancy I went to her but she was very rude in her responses and was unable to understand the pain patient is going through. It was a monochorionic mono-amniotic case which is very rare but the amount of care and suggestions made by doctor was nothing. Was treated carelessly. Bangalore Fetal care center is like a training center so many Junior doctors will attend and we need to wait for the main doctors for almost whole day. The scans are so expensive and no where in Bangalore they might charge so badly. It is mainly money which counts for Fetal Medicine center. The main doctor who is the owner of this center is so bad that she had initially diagnosed wrongly as monochorionic diamniotic in manipal hospital and she is so very arrogant. And later though corrected as monochorionic monoamniotic I was not treated or suggested well. I spent nearly 1.5lks on all this junk and also screwed up my health which took 2years to recover though i lost the twins. Never recommend these doctors and hospitals to anyone

Veena is a pragmatic, friendly and non judgemental professional that will focus on helping and giving actual facts rather than personal opinions. She is very helpful and didn't even charged us when my partner and I went to ask for some tests. I had gone a few times before by myself and she was very kind and respectful. Highly recommended.

I had great experience with Dr. Veena, First time when i met her, she deals with smily face. Since first day itself i like her friendlyness nature, like a family member, explain in detailed of health issue, etc.

Overall, i really appreciate the way of treatment with full satisfaction.

The clinic;doctor and staff are extremely competent. The only basic glaring problem is the parking in the building which is not available. Its surprising that pregnant women will have to walk in such extreme conditions. Atleast they need to organize separate parking facilities for BFMC

Dr Veena Acharya, whom I happen to meet yesterday at BFMS, Few people whom you meet even for few minutes leaves a stunning impact on you.

Truly inspirational & I am glad such people get into medicine and specialize in Gynecology related area which concentrates on women health. Very few of them evokes this feeling in me at-least.. Although it was her fag end of the day, she still kept her interest and 100% time for me with all the good gestures.
