Bangalore. Post his MBBS, he did his Post-Graduation in Surgery and Post-Graduation in Urology from the Diplomate of National Board (DNB). He did his fellowship in Andrology in Singapore. He is the first qualified Andrologist in India. Post his medical degree from St Johns Medical College, Bangalore in 1981 and training in General Surgery from Madras Medical College in 1986, he underwent training in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Genitourinary Surgery.He completed a specialization in Genitourinary Surgery in 1993.

He has worked in premier hospitals in the Country and overseas. He has worked in St John’s Hospital, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, Changi General Hospital, Singapore, to name a few. He did a brief stint in City Hospital, Nottingham, UK. During his stint in St John’s Medical College & Hospital in the Department of Urology & Renal Transplantation he set up the Department of Urodynamics.

Over the years he developed a keen interest in Andrology and Incontinence and continued it during his stint at Changi General Hospital, Singapore. He was a member of Society for Continence, Singapore and was deeply engaged in its activities to raise awareness of incontinence.

Dr. Vasan set up India’s first state of the art Andrology and Men’s Health treatment Centre in 2002 in Bangalore. Since then over the years he has introduced several cutting-edge diagnostic services and treatment options in Andrology. His pioneering launches include:
1. CASA – Computer Assisted Semen Analysis in accordance with the WHO 5th manual and Indian data
2. Computer-Aided Sperm Morphology Assessment (CASMA) with Sperm Functional Integrity
assessment (SFI)
3. DNA Fragmentation Index (DFI)
4. Reactive oxygen species estimation (ROS)
5. Sperm Developmental Defect (SDD) assessment

He has pioneered treatment for Erectile Dysfunction, microsurgeries and penile implant surgeries.
