Dr. Kishore Digambar Phadke is a pediatric nephrologist at Rainbow Children's Hospital in Bangalore and has pioneered several international collaborations in Pediatric Nephrology. He is a Prof. in Dept. of Pediatric Nephrology at Children’s Kidney Center, St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore and was the Former Head of the Department of Pediatrics, St. John’s. He started first DM (Pediatric Nephrology) MCI approved course in the country in 2013. He is also a Hon. Fellow of Indian Academy of Pediatrics and Indian Society of Nephrology. Dr. Kishore is a Member of IPNA strategic planning committee. He has Represented the Asian continent on the governing council of International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) as the Assistant Secretary between the years 2007 to 2010. He was also the Asst. Secretary-General of Asian Pediatric Nephrology Association between 2007 to 2013. He has delivered guest lectures at International Pediatric Nephrology Association meetings at Seattle, Adelaide and New York and Shanghai; also at International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis meeting at Montreal, Canada. He was the forefront of establishing the Children’s Kidney Care Center at St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore. He is also the former Chairperson for Indian Pediatric Nephrology Group, President of Bangalore Pediatric Society, Vice President of the Southern Chapter of Indian Society of Nephrology. He is the Vice Chairman of Zonal Coordination Committee of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka – for promotion of deceased donor transplant program.Dr. Kishore is the recipient of research grants from Canadian Institute of Health, Department of Bio-technology, ICMR -Indian Council of Medical Research and Recipient of a grant from Sir Ratan Tata trust for educational and training programs in Pediatric Nephrology and has numerous publications in National & International Medical Journals under his name. His special interests are – Teaching methodologies, development of training programs in Pediatric Nephrology (runs a one year fellowship program for last fifteen years in Pediatric Nephrology for pediatricians – recognized by Rajeev Gandhi University of Health Sciences, State of Karnataka & International Pediatric Nephrology Association; the trainees have established Pediatric Nephrology centers in different parts of the country), development of deceased donor transplant program in Bangalore & India., medical ethics, social aspects of health care.
