Dr. Arun L Naik was trained at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi where he worked for 7 years before moving to his native Bangalore.He is practicing in the city for last 17 years. He established and started Neurosurgery departments at some of the well-known centers in the city before joining Apollo Hospitals in 2013. He has the credit of starting Neuronavigation procedures for brain and spine diseases in 2001 at Bangalore for the first time in the country. He has performed some of the very complex neurovascular surgeries like brain aneurysm clipping and Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs) to his credit. He started spinal navigation guided fusion procedures for difficult spinal cases in the city. He has a vast experience in operating on previously failed spinal problems. Dr. Naik routinely performs Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) procedures for various movement disorders. He has performed over 10,000 surgeries on brain, spine, and nerves during his long career. He is a DNB teacher and has trained many DNB students. He is highly active in many local, national and international neurosurgical societies and attends regular professional conferences to keep his knowledge of ever-expanding neurosciences up-to-date. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to Dr. Arun L. Naik for successfully operating spinal fusion (Cervical C3-5 Laminectomy and C3-6 Lateral mass fusion) on my dad and saving him before disease could damage him any worst.
Dad is 74 Years, history of prolonged rheumatoid arthritis, heart surgery (CABG) years back, Diabetic, weakness and other age related factors. When spondylosis struck him recently, it was unbearable pain day and night and worst part it started to deteriorate him quickly as in weeks impacting him on his day-to-day life activities. We knew pretty much anything could happen now on. Many hospitals and doctors visited within Bangalore, but we were not certain and unable to decide what we do next. We were in a situation and dilemma; weather we wait and watch helpless or act something fast with calculated risks.
When we approached Dr. Arun, we were certain God had led us to him; we already felt the dedication, vast experience, confident* ******* and safe hands. More over such a wonderful person to talk to with all our questions, non-biased opinions, options and risks. I had done a good research to find the best neurosurgeon in Bangalore, And I must say indeed in whole country itself as he has successfully done many complicated surgeries and every patient speaks very highly of his professionalism. My dad had a very severe nerve compression and due to which he had terrible pain near neck area, shoulders, arm and below knee too. Dr. Arun L Naik looked into the MRI reports and advised for surgery as it was the only best option for the condition and he answered all our concerns, he is very soft spoken and clearly understands the problems and also verifies every symptoms calmly. My dad is 68 yrs old and he had open heart surgery in 2001 and is also diabetic, so each tests were done to make sure the spinal surgery could be done. The C3-C7 spinal fusion (decompression laminecotomy and lateral mass fusion) surgery was performed on March 10th 2018 and everything went perfectly well and he was discharged by 17th March. He is doing very well now and is walking and doing his activities on his own. I would like to thank Dr. Arun L Naik for being exceptional in what he does and very grateful to him. The back pain has been bothering me for several years. Had consulted several Doctors. Was not sure whether the problem was ortho or neuro. Added to that was my claustrophobia for MRI. After reading good reviews on PRACTO about Dr Arun Naik I went for consultation. Seeing the X Rays, he convinced me that MRI is a must and suggested for an open MRI which I underwent. He saw the reports and suggested medication for 1 moth. He is a very good Doctor and makes you feel at ease and clarifies all your queries. He has assured me that the pain will subside and I have full faith in him

I visited this doctor for back pain and on the first visit he asked few tests like MRI,nerves test etc..we had gone through all the tests and we went for consultation on next day..but he dint have patience to listen. he just saw MRI and said no major issues as such and he prescribed prescription for one month but the pain is not reduced a bit. and on the second visit he dint show any interest to treat and said "we will give a steroid injection to spine if you are not able to bare the pain" ******* ** ********* *** **** ***** .. So i will not recommend this doctor to anyone..

As i was suffering from severe back pain since few years which was unbearable i went to many doctors where i was not diagnosed properly and provided with some pain killers and suggested for operation . Based on my neighbor reference i went to Dr Arun L Naik . Doctor went through my MRI reports and clearly explained me in detail which made to certain required exercise with medicines , and suggested no need of operation . Got Spine surgery done for my Mom 3 years ago by Dr.Arun Nayak.
Highly arrogant and unprofessional behavior. After paying a bill of close to 6 lacs, ** *********** ** **** *** ********* *** *** ********* ****** ************ ******** Before surgery she was able to walk atleast *** *** *** ** ********** *** *******
When we met the next time and mentioned abut the problems, he simply put the responsibility back on my mom saying she didn't try to walk after surgery.
How can she walk with so much pain that she is undergoing.
I have never seen such Dr in my life.. Please be careful before making your choice on him..

I am just 34 years old, was suffering from severe low back pain spreading down the leg for the last 3 years. Tried all possible non surgical methods but didn't work. Dr Arun Naik explained me that I have L4L5 and L5S1 disc bulge and suggested to go for spinal fusion. I got it operated by him at Apollo Hospital Bannerghatta Road. ** ****** ***** *** ***** *** ** **** **** ***** ********* **** *** started going to office in just 2 months. Now it's 3 months post surgery. Pains are gone and I am doing great with kms of walk and light exercises. I had been to the doctor 3 times. The first appointment I was asked to get MRI scan of the cervical spine which I did and during the second appoitment the doctor mentioned that I have some cervical problem which was causing the issue and mentioned that I need to take medication for 3 months. I was asked to book a follow up appintment which I did during which the doctor was not very friendly *** *** *** ******* *** *****. I was trying to convey the symptoms of pain I had but he did not pay heed to my words. He also mentioned I did not have any serious problems but told me I had to take anti seizure medication my whole life *** *** ** ******. I asked him what the problem was and he did not say anything. He has now given me 2 prescriptions online and I am not sure which one I have to take. I expected the doctor to be more understanding of my problem and explain why or what was causing the issue.
