After finishing his Masters in General Surgery from Grant College,Mumbai, he went on to complete the Diplomate of National Board from NBE,New Delhi in 1994. He was then awarded FRCS by RCPS, Glasgow, after successfully completing his training in Laparoscopic and Gastro-Intestinal surgery,followed by the training in Advanced Laparoscopic Training at the European Institute of Tele-Surgery(EITS),Strasbourg, France–one of the premie rLaparoscopic training institutes in the world.He had also undergone an intensive training in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery at the National University Hospital, Singapore.
